On Saturday, 8 August 2026, Archangels Catholic Church, Agbede, welcomed young people for the Parish Young Missionary Movement (YOMM) Outreach – a day centred on faith, formation, friendship and joyful discovery.
With the invitation, “Come, let us impact, inspire and be a light to others,” the programme reminded every young person that missionary life begins with the choices we make each day: how we treat others, how we use our gifts and how courageously we pursue a life of purpose.
The outreach featured a conversation on healthy relationships, a career talk, games and a talent showcase. Each activity spoke to an important part of a young person’s growth. The relationship session encouraged respect, good boundaries and responsible choices. The career conversation invited participants to think beyond immediate pressures and recognise the possibilities God has placed before them. The games created room for laughter and teamwork, while the talent showcase celebrated creativity and confidence.
More than a list of activities, the outreach expressed the Church’s commitment to walking with young people. It showed that the parish is not only a place where young Catholics worship; it is also a community where they can ask questions, build wholesome friendships, discover their strengths and learn to serve.
We are grateful to the YOMM leaders, facilitators, volunteers, parents and everyone who supported the programme. Their time and care helped create a welcoming space in which young people could learn, connect and grow.
May the lessons and friendships formed through this outreach continue to bear fruit. May our young missionaries become courageous witnesses of Christ – at home, at school, among friends and wherever life takes them.
Archangels Catholic Church remains committed to nurturing young people whose faith is alive, whose choices are wise and whose lives shine as a light to others.
